Thankful

As I sat around our table at Thanksgiving I thought of everything I was thankful for and wanted to share, so here goes. There are the obvious ones my family: sometimes they are a pain, but always there when you need them, our healthy baby boy: he's getting so big and he just puts a smile on my face every day, and my job: thank goodness I have a job I love and has vacation days for me to spend with my family. There is so much more to be thankful for, but I'd be here ALL day. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Now the countdown starts until Christmas!!!

F is for four months and food!

Colt is eating real food now! Woo hoo! Talk about stinky diapers!!! So far we've tried cereal and bananas. We may be adventurous tonight and try some apples. We're also trying the sippy cup. Crazy, I know!!! It's funny to see this little guy sitting in his high chair trying to drink from a sippy cup. He grabs the handle and chews on the spout, I haven't quite figured out if he's getting anything out of it yet, but hey, he's trying... at least he's getting the idea! Here are some pictures of his first time eating and his 4 month picture.

Love y'all!

Halloween and more Fall Fun

Well, since the last time I posted it has been quite crazy! We all had a stomach bug. Now it's terrible when you're sick or when the baby is sick, but when ALL of you are sick... it is REALLY terrible. I think we are finally all back in good health. Colt had his 4 month check up. He was 13.8 lbs and 24 1/2 inches long. The doctor called him "shrimpy", but let me just say, the boy has been making up for lost time lately!! Since switching him to formula he's been pretty mad about the whole eating thing. He would eat 4 oz and cry while he was eating. Now he has seemed to adjust to formula, but he still will fuss while he is eating every now and then. He's also been waking up in the middle of the night to eat, which he hasn't done since he was 6 weeks old!!! Talk about tiring... yikes!!! I just keep praying that this growth spurt will pass quickly... if not we're flying mom down to do the night shift. LOL.

I'm posting some pictures of Colt at the pumpkin patch and his first Halloween. Unfortunately Colt was not feeling to well for it, but you can't tell from his pictures! I'm so thankful that God has blessed us with such a happy go lucky little boy!

I'll be posting Thanksgiving pictures soon... can't wait to show y'all his outfit!!

3 months old (well... kind of)

So as busy as things have been, I wasn't able to take Colt's picture exactly at 3 months. I had planned on taking fall themed pictures, but hadn't had the time... getting back into the routine of things was tough!!! With the help of Gigi, we were able to get quite a few cute pictures of him at 3 1/2 months... but who's counting?! I haven't been able to edit these pictures either because of all of the lightning damage done to our house. It took out all of our electronics and we are stuck in the dark ages!!! Anyway, here are a few pictures of our little guy from this past weekend! Happy Fall Y'all!

Marley & Me

We had our first visit from my best friend and her brand new baby, Marley. We had an eventful weekend of shopping at the outlets and Target. It was also VERY interesting having 2 babies, 2 diaper bags, 2 strollers and our numerous shopping bags shoved into my little car! Looks like it's time for an upgrade! It was great to have someone around who is going through the same thing as I am... sleepless nights and poopy diapers! Thanks for visiting, bestie!

Daddy's birthday

J had his first birthday with Colt. Since he's been working so much lately, he really had an uneventful birthday. Colt and I went to publix and picked up Daddy a cookies and cream ice cream cake for when he got off of work. Here are some pictures of Colt & Daddy. Happy 33rd, honey! We love you!

Life as we know it

Yes, we are still alive and surviving! Although I do have to say the first couple of weeks I was more like a zombie due to the lack of sleep. Now we are starting to get a hang of things and have somewhat established a schedule for Colt. He's started sleeping 4 hours a night, which is nice! Hopefully before long he'll be sleeping through the night for us... wishful thinking :) Here are a few pictures of our first 3 weeks at home!

Our new addition

As everyone may know, Colt finally made his appearance this past Tuesday (July 6th). I went in to be induced early that morning. I was in a lot of pain until I got my epidural around 1:00. Once I had my epidural though, I felt great... well all things considering! I kept watching the clock pass as my doctors came to check to see how dilated I was. Colt moved from 2-4 cm in 8 hours. The doctor decided that it wasn't going to happen, so we ended up having a C section. They started at 6:01 and he was born by 6:06. Isn't that amazing?! It happened so quickly that when they had delivered him and held him up I was in shock he was finally here. He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long with a healthy set of lungs! Here are a few of the pictures from our hospital stay. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing little guy! J is such a proud daddy. It really amazes me how much you can love someone instantly, the way we love Colt.

Making his appearance

It looks as if Colt is going to be stubborn... like his daddy!! I went to the Dr's today and was told that I'm 80% effaced, dilated at 2 cm and at station 1. I pretty much begged her to induce me today, however, she was not having that! So she did the next best thing, she scheduled our induction for Tuesday, July 6th. I still have hopes that Colt will possibly come on his own, but knowing my luck, I'll just have to continue this waiting game. Here's to my last blog as a free adult. My next blog I'll be a mommy with a lot of responsibilities. Good bye sleep, good bye getting up and going as I please and hello to my sweet sweet boy! What a relief it will be!!

Colt's Room

This is pretty much the final product. I still want to add a vinyl decal of his monogram and paint a few things, but since we are selling the house, we figured we would just wait until we move to make his room exactly what we want. J refinished one of his old dressers. I think he did a great job. We are still looking for handles that we like that actually fit. All of the handles we've found are too small!! I'm definitely pleased with the outcome and am anxiously awaiting his arrival so we can use his room! Until he gets here, I'll continue to go into his room each day and look at all of the little baby things I've acquired and wonder when this boy is going to come!!!

I had my dr's appointment on Thursday. The dr said I'm still dilated at 1 cm. He did a sonogram to make sure he's still in the right position. He is and the DR also said that as of now he is 7 lbs 13 oz give or take 7 oz or so. He's also worried about the size of his head. Go figure!!! I go back again this Thursday. Hopefully we'll have some good news!!
