Life as we know it

Yes, we are still alive and surviving! Although I do have to say the first couple of weeks I was more like a zombie due to the lack of sleep. Now we are starting to get a hang of things and have somewhat established a schedule for Colt. He's started sleeping 4 hours a night, which is nice! Hopefully before long he'll be sleeping through the night for us... wishful thinking :) Here are a few pictures of our first 3 weeks at home!

Our new addition

As everyone may know, Colt finally made his appearance this past Tuesday (July 6th). I went in to be induced early that morning. I was in a lot of pain until I got my epidural around 1:00. Once I had my epidural though, I felt great... well all things considering! I kept watching the clock pass as my doctors came to check to see how dilated I was. Colt moved from 2-4 cm in 8 hours. The doctor decided that it wasn't going to happen, so we ended up having a C section. They started at 6:01 and he was born by 6:06. Isn't that amazing?! It happened so quickly that when they had delivered him and held him up I was in shock he was finally here. He was 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long with a healthy set of lungs! Here are a few of the pictures from our hospital stay. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing little guy! J is such a proud daddy. It really amazes me how much you can love someone instantly, the way we love Colt.

Making his appearance

It looks as if Colt is going to be stubborn... like his daddy!! I went to the Dr's today and was told that I'm 80% effaced, dilated at 2 cm and at station 1. I pretty much begged her to induce me today, however, she was not having that! So she did the next best thing, she scheduled our induction for Tuesday, July 6th. I still have hopes that Colt will possibly come on his own, but knowing my luck, I'll just have to continue this waiting game. Here's to my last blog as a free adult. My next blog I'll be a mommy with a lot of responsibilities. Good bye sleep, good bye getting up and going as I please and hello to my sweet sweet boy! What a relief it will be!!
